Keeping the Greenway Clean

With the opening of the Lafitte Greenway fast approaching (Summer 2015), NOLA Trash Mob is again teaming up with Friends of Lafitte Corridor to clean up another area adjacent to the new park, and this time we will be teaming up with volunteers from the LSU School of Public Health. TODAY, Saturday, April 11th at 9:30 a.m.

nola-trash-mob-logoEveryone will meet at the Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center (2200 Lafitte Street) THIS MORNING at 9:30am (Saturday, April 11th. The cleanup will start there and spread out in different directions from the center for two hours. It is an exciting opportunity to partner with the Friends of Lafitte Corridor and the LSU School of Public Health!

Groups will mob the area for trash from 9:30 to 11:30, then bring all of the trash gathered to a designated spot so everyone can gather ’round the big pile and smile for a photo. There is a limited supply of gloves, grabbers, and bags. Please feel free to bring your own equipment (rakes, shovels, brooms, heavy duty dustpans) and bags (dark for garbage, clear for recyclables). The weather has cleared so no excuses! Come on out and join the fun.

NOLA Trash Mob is on a mission to change the way that our beautiful city thinks about littering.

With so many people planning on coming out TODAY, please consider bringing tools–rakes, shovels, brooms, heavy duty dustpans, etc.–to supplement the limited number of grabbers.
